New Insurance Program Rewards Members For “Loyal Years”

March 1, 2004

February 2004

FMCA and Hartford Life Insurance Company have just put the finishing touches on a brand-new accident insurance plan for family members. It’s called the “Loyal Years Plan,” and it’s quite different from anything you’ve seen before.

As any careful insurance shopper knows, not all accident insurance plans are the same. Many of the more common accident plans offered to consumers today pay only a $5,000 or $10,000 death benefit. Some plans may also include a very small $20- or $30-a-day hospital benefit. The new Loyal Years Plan, however, pays four different and valuable benefits that are designed to be used by today’s active FMCA member who wants “” and needs “” proper accident insurance coverage, particularly in today’s uncertain times. As with any purchase, when buying accident insurance, it’s important to make sure that it is high-quality insurance, underwritten by a strong, reputable insurance company. It’s also important to make sure that the coverage is carefully designed to do the most for you “” to really help you in the event that you have the unfortunate experience of becoming involved in an accident, which, of course, happens even to FMCA members.

The Loyal Years Plan begins with a very good benefit (up to $60,000) for accidental loss of life, something that’s absolutely necessary with this kind of coverage. The Plan continues its protection power with three additional, very meaningful benefits (all of which are included in the cost of the plan). These benefits have been included because “” as we all know “” accidents are not always fatal, and often those who are involved in accidents need help with their hospital bills and the many other inevitable expenses associated with getting back on their feet after an accident. (Even a “fender bender” can lead to a trip to the hospital or doctor and require outpatient care by a medical professional.) Knowing this, the Loyal Years Plan has been specially arranged to include a hospital benefit, an outpatient benefit, and a recuperation benefit … all three of which are convenient and useful and can pay up to $600 a day each, depending on the range of benefits you select. And, again, all three benefits are included at no extra cost to you.

The Loyal Years Plan provides coverage for accidents while traveling, while commuting to and from work, traveling to visit the kids, to and from shopping, around town or around the world … 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. What’s more, benefits under the Loyal Years Plan do not reduce at age 65 or 70, like other plans. In fact, this coverage continues to protect you at any age. Having accident protection that holds its value “” at any age “” is very important (particularly for our older members) and is just one more reason the Loyal Years Plan provides so much peace of mind … now and in the future.

The Loyal Years Plan also rewards you with increasing benefits that are based on the number of years you’ve been an FMCA member. If you’ve belonged to FMCA for five years or less, your Loyal Years benefits will automatically increase (at no cost to you) 10 percent each year of your FMCA membership, up to your sixth year. Once you’ve reached your sixth year of FMCA membership, you will continue to enjoy “” year after year “” the maximum benefit protection your FMCA membership has earned you “” for as long as you renew your FMCA membership and your Loyal Years insurance.

So, whether you’ve been a member of FMCA for four years or 40 years, the Loyal Years coverage is specifically designed to reward you “” directly “” for your years of loyalty and commitment to FMCA.

And while some people might expect to pay several hundred dollars a year for such a benefit-rich Plan, the Loyal Years BASIC Plan has a special “members only” rate of just $34 semiannually for individuals. You should know, too, that the premium rates under this plan do not increase with age. Also, if you would like to include your spouse or entire family in your coverage, you are encouraged to include them in the family coverage plan.

We’re very pleased to be able to offer this new accident plan, and we have made special arrangements to have a personalized Loyal Years kit sent to each FMCA family member in the near future.
