On-Demand Greeting Cards

I’ve found a Web site that makes it easy for people to create personalized greeting cards on the computer using their own digital images and then have the cards produced, addressed, and mailed to friends and family. The service, www.sendoutcards.com, has a selection of stock cards to choose from, or you can design your own, complete with a personalized message and type style. The service is inexpensive and so easy. You just make the card and push a button, and it is mailed.

Door Handle Assist

Broken fingernails and several unkind words from the distaff prompted me to change our RV door handle. A trip to the hardware store solved the problem.

I purchased a plated rod that typically is used to latch a gate to a fence. I used the predrilled holes in the rod as a template to drill the holes in the door opener. A large plated washer was used for backup on the inside of the outer mounting. The use of rust-resistant (plated) hardware prevents the parts from rusting or corroding.

Wine Glass Protection

We have a wine-glass rack in which the glasses hang upside down. We were concerned about the possibility of breakage as they rattled together while we traveled. A creative friend showed me her trick of slipping a baby sock over the bowl of each glass. No more concern about breakage, and they were quiet as well.

Carpet Repair

In several places our motorhome carpet kept unraveling and leaving shredded threads. The more I cut the threads, the more the carpet unraveled. So I gave the carpet a final haircut and coated the edges with clear nail polish. This solution has lasted quite awhile and looks great.
