Thor Motor Coach Offers Open Concept, Island Kitchen Model
Thor Motor Coach has added the 37GT — featuring an innovative kitchen design — to its Challenger line of premium gas-powered Type A motorhomes. The 2013 Challenger 37GT model offers an island kitchen with plentiful countertop spaces. The island features a hidden pull-out trash receptacle. The multifunctional overhead storage space in the kitchen incorporates a wine rack with hanging glass storage.
The 38-foot motorhome also has an elongated sofa bed with kick-up footrest on one end, an ideal place to just sit back and relax. Additional seating is provided by the swiveling cockpit chairs. The hide-away, retractable 32-inch LCD TV can be viewed from any of the seating positions. The free-standing buffet dinette provides a great view of the outside world, while keeping the open concept throughout the coach.
Storage space is the primary focus in the bath and bedroom areas. Twin vanities, a full-length mirror, and prep for a stackable washer-dryer all come standard.

Monaco RV Becomes Navistar RV
Monaco RV officials announced in early August that the company has changed its name to Navistar RV. Monaco, Holiday Rambler, and R-Vision brands will remain distinct under the Navistar RV subsidiary of Navistar Inc.
Navistar Inc., producer of school buses, commercial trucks, and defense vehicles, acquired Monaco RV in 2009. Navistar officials note that the name change is the natural next step in Navistar’s commitment to the RV business.
Since the acquisition, the company has streamlined operations and appointed a new executive management team. Navistar has also fully integrated the design, development, testing, and validation of its RVs with the company’s commercial truck and bus product development organization.
Navistar RV’s Monaco and Holiday Rambler motorhomes are produced in Wakarusa, Indiana, with powertrain, chassis, and body assembly in one dedicated facility. The company also maintains manufacturing operations for its towable units in Harrisburg, Oregon, and Elkhart, Indiana.
Liberty Coach Creations To Appear On TV
Liberty Coach, manufacturer of luxury motor coach conversions, will be in the spotlight this fall as the company is featured on two different cable television shows.
Liberty Coach, which maintains locations in Stuart, Florida, and North Chicago, Illinois, will be a featured company on Destination America’s new show “Outrageous Upgrades,” which will showcase customizations of homes, yachts, cars, motorcycles, and motorhomes. Liberty Coach vice president Frank Konigseder Jr. chose the company’s #752 Triple Slide Lorenzo Edition for the segment. At press time, an airdate had not been announced for the episode, which was shot in July at Hearthside Grove RV Resort in Petoskey, Michigan, but a late-fall premiere is expected.
Liberty Coach also was chosen to appear on the Travel Channel’s “Mega RV Countdown” series. For that show, the #750 Verona Edition will be the star. In addition to Liberty’s quality craftsmanship, this particular motorhome features a custom exterior design by world-renowned automobile, boat, and aircraft painter Dean Loucks. Mr. Loucks was on hand with Mr. Konigseder for the filming at Outdoor Resorts of America’s St. Lucie West Motorcoach Resort. This series is expected to debut in the fall as well, with a different motorhome featured each week.
