Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) has announced NHTSA recall 12V552000, which involves 2010 through 2013 model-year Freightliner Custom Chassis XB and XC chassis built from January 1, 2010, through September 20, 2012. The potential number of chassis involved is 7,594.
The affected chassis are equipped with diode jumpers that may not completely lock inside the connectors. Should these diodes become loose, it could result in an intermittent or continuous open circuit. Two separate circuits potentially are affected: one circuit disengages the cruise control with brake pedal application, and the other circuit illuminates the brake lights with brake pedal application. Failure of the cruise control to disengage or the brake lights to illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed could lead to a crash.
A DTNA dealer will inspect the diodes to assure they are fully engaged and locked in place.

Prevost Car Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 12V564000, which involves 2011 and 2012 model-year X3-45 coaches manufactured from June 3, 2010, through August 25, 2011, and equipped with an automatic fire detection and suppression system (AFSS). The potential number of vehicles involved is 87.
On the affected coaches, the AFSS extinguisher cylinder is located in the engine compartment. High temperatures in this compartment area may cause the pressure relief valve to release nitrogen reserve that is under pressure and is the power source for the release of the fire suppression agent. In the event of a fire, the AFSS may not operate as designed, increasing the risk of injury to coach occupants.
A Prevost technician will relocate the extinguisher cylinder to the third luggage compartment on the street side of the coach. The repair is expected to take approximately 10 hours. However, because of service scheduling times, the service department may need your vehicle for a longer period of time.

Thor Industries Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 12V596000, which involves 2008 through 2013 model-year Airstream Interstate motorhomes built from August 2007 through December 2012 and equipped with the rear sofa floor plan. The potential number of vehicles involved is 576.
On the affected motorhomes, a seat belt latch or buckle on the rear sofa may fall in between the sofa base and sofa back and come in contact with electrical equipment located under the sofa base. It is also possible that metal cables under the seat could break and fall onto the electrical equipment. Should any of these items come in contact with the electrical equipment, arcing could occur, which could result in a fire.
An Airstream dealer will install a cover over the electrical equipment located under the sofa. In addition, a protective cover will be installed over the electrical connection from the battery box. The repair is expected to take approximately 45 minutes. However, because of service scheduling times, the service department may need your vehicle for a longer period of time.

Winnebago Industries Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 12V559000, which involves 2009 through 2013 model-year Winnebago Era, Via, and View motorhomes, and 2010 through 2013 model-year Itasca Navion and Reyo motorhomes built from November 13, 2007, through August 10, 2012. The potential number of vehicles involved is 2,944.
On the affected motorhomes, incorrect fuses were installed on the refrigerator’s 12-volt-DC circuits. A 5-amp fuse was installed to the lamp/fan circuit instead of the appropriate 3-amp fuse, and a 20-amp fuse was installed to the heating element circuit instead of the appropriate 15-amp fuse. If the circuits are not protected by the proper-size fuse, heat could build, which could lead to a fire that could result in property damage, personal injury, or death.
A Winnebago Industries dealer will replace the incorrect fuses with the correct fuses.
