Recall Corner: September 2013

September 1, 2013

Thor Motor Coach has announced NHTSA recall 13V265000, which involves model-year 2006 through 2010 Magellan, model-year 2006 through 2013 Windsport, model-year 2007 through 2013 Hurricane, model-year 2009 through 2013 Serrano, and model-year 2011 through 2013 A.C.E. motorhomes built from April 29, 2005, through March 28, 2013. The potential number of vehicles involved in 7,593.

The affected motorhomes are equipped with an RV Custom Products Battery Control Center (BCC), which may experience a failure while the vehicle is in operation. If the BCC fails while the vehicle is in motion, all power to the chassis portion of the motorhome is lost, including all lighting. The vehicle can become very difficult to operate, which may result in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, the loss of lighting would make the vehicle more difficult for other motorists to identify.

A Thor Motor Coach dealer will rewire the circuit operated by the BCC. The repair is expected to take approximately 30 minutes. However, because of service scheduling times, the service department may need the vehicle for a longer period of time.

For more information about this recall, contact Thor Motor Coach at (877) 855-2867. Owner notification for this recall began in July 2013.
