March 2015
The California Pacers chapter of FMCA marked its 25th anniversary with a rally from September 24-28, 2014, at Wine Country RV Resort in Paso Robles, California. The wonderful event was filled with fun and laughter, as are all of our rallies.
We were thrilled to have 15 former members return, as well as our lifetime honoree, Pat Nelson. It was also very special to have on hand Rick Ricordati, former national vice president, Western Area, and his wife, Jan, as well as Western Motor Home Association dignitiaries Lon Cross and his wife, Christine, and Roy McDaniel and his wife, Anna.
The rally featured outstanding cuisine, amazing décor, a tour of Mission San Miguel, hysterical entertainment, competitive games, sentimental moments, and lovely gifts. Roy McDaniel presented the club with a commemorative certificate and a check from FMCA. We were very appreciative.
The chapter was founded in 1989 by George and Pat Nelson and a group of friends. For the first 25 years, membership was exclusively for Fleetwood Pace Arrow owners, but changing times led to the decision to accept other motorhome brands. We have not been sorry. We have four rallies a year, plus we attend the Western Area Rally and prerally in Indio, California. This month, we will meet at FMCA’s 91st Family Reunion in Pomona, California, and hold a pre-Pomona rally in San Dimas.
We pride ourselves on making visitors feel welcome, holding unique and fun-filled rallies, and offering our service to FMCA and the Western Motor Home Association.
We now look forward to the next 25 years, starting with a full slate of rallies for 2015. We’d love to have you join us. Check us out at www.calpacers.com, or call chapter president Ed Burrows at (818) 889-8804.
