FMCA 2014 Convention History
The “FMCA Convention History” in the January 2015 issue (page 320), which lists previous FMCA convention dates, locations, and coach counts, erroneously indicated that the 89th and 90th Family Reunions in Perry, Georgia, and Redmond, Oregon, respectively, occurred in 2015. Both of those conventions took place in 2014.
FMC regrets this error.
Towing Guide Addition
After publication of Family Motor Coaching magazine’s “Towables for 2015” towing guide (January 2015, page 44), we learned that Scion officials had provided incorrect information regarding towability of its vehicles. Two 2015 Scion models equipped with a manual transmission should have been included in the guide.
The vehicles are the front-wheel-drive tC (curb weight 3,058 pounds; length 176.6 inches) and the front-wheel-drive xB (curb weight 3,020 pounds; length 168.1 inches). There are no distance limitations when towing these vehicles. Refer to the vehicles’ owners manuals for more information about towing the vehicles with all four wheels on the ground.
Electric Motorcycle
Dear Editor:
Regarding the use of electric cars, as discussed in the January 2015 “Readers’ Forum” column (“Time For Towable Electric Cars,” page 20), we like to go a bit smaller and lighter. We carry an all-electric motorcycle, the Zero model S. You can look it up at www.zeromotorcycles.com.
After trying various prototypes of other brands, we found that the Zero has proved to be the best built; most stable at various speeds (up to 90 mph if desired); and can go about 100 miles or more on a charge from a 120-volt outlet. Ours has the optional luggage rack and windshield. Before the motorcycle, we had an electric scooter, which is more comfortable and easy to mount for elders, from www.currentmotor.com. Either one of these vehicles charges in a few hours in a campground, using less power than most RV air conditioners.
We have a smaller RV, which, like most, has a fairly full load on the rear axle without carrying a cycle, so we haul our motorcycle on a single-wheel trailer. These trailers attach to the hitch at two points, so no jackknifing occurs, and the wheels swivel to corner. You can back up with no worries. See www.smarttrailers.com for details.

“A Golden Time” Planned
Dear Editor:
The Michigan Knights of the Highway and the Midwest Coachmen chapters are celebrating a milestone this year. Our chapters were chartered by FMCA on April 10, 1965. To celebrate, a 50th anniversary rally is taking place, and all FMCA members, regardless of whether they belong to either chapter, are invited to join us.
The theme of this rally is “A Golden Time,” and it will take place at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Wauseon, Ohio, on May 14-17. We have three nights of fun and entertainment planned, including three evening meals, and coffee and doughnuts on Sunday morning. Thursday evening, a local high school choir will perform. Friday evening we will have a potluck, and that night is designated as a get acquainted/fun night. Saturday evening we will have our anniversary celebration with a catered meal. There will be places to see and go while you’re at the rally, plus you’ll get a chance to meet new friends.
There will be a $15 rally fee and a $75 camping fee; additional nights of camping are $25 each.
We are planning a memorable time to be had by all. You won’t want to miss it. Please contact me for more information.

Quilt Artists
Dear Editor:
As a quilter, I enjoyed the article titled “Warm and Cozy: The National Quilt Museum” in the December 2014 issue (page 64). It was nicely written, the photos showed a variety of quilt styles, and the travel information was useful.
However, I was surprised and disappointed that the quilt photo captions did not include the quilt-makers’ names. As with any artwork reproduced in a publication, credit should always be given.

Editor’s note: That’s an excellent point. Following is the list of quilt makers for each image:

Page 65, “Star Struck” by Cheryl See and “Fire Dragon Rhapsody” by Ricky Tims.
Page 66, “Forest Walk” by Pat Durbin.
