The fall rally of the Country Coach Texans chapter was held October 5 through 9, 2016, at the Mineola Civic Center and RV Park in Mineola, Texas. On Saturday, we were pleased that Joe Wright, senior vice president of the South Central Area’s Six-State Rally Association, and his wife, Nancy, surprised us by presenting the chapter’s 15th anniversary certificate from FMCA.
Chapter Info
The Country Coach Texans chapter was formed in November 2001 for Country Coach motorhome owners. The 29 charter member couples resided primarily in Texas. Over the years, the chapter grew to include members from Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, and South Dakota. It was sometimes difficult to find parks large enough to accommodate our biannual rallies.
After Country Coach filed for bankruptcy in 2009, the chapter bylaws were changed. The chapter now allows owners of any brand of Type A, B, or C diesel coach to join. (In December 2015, Winnebago Industries bought the Country Coach plant and announced plans to revive the Country Coach brand.) Today, chapter membership stands at about 50 families.
Members of Country Coach Texans are proud of our history with FMCA. We look forward to many more years of the camaraderie we all enjoy when motorhoming.
