President, Rally In The Pasture Chapter
July 2017
Rally in the Pasture, or R.I.P., is an FMCA chapter that holds an annual rally hosted by FMCA national president Charlie Adcock and his wife, Gloria, in Searcy, Arkansas. This year the Rally in the Pasture took place April 24 through 28. Once again, we enjoyed several days of fun and friendship.
This year attendees in 76 coaches gathered from all over the United States, with water and electric provided to all. The rally included made-to-order breakfasts on three mornings, supper each night, and entertainment. One night, we went to Huckleberry’s Catfish Buffet, a favorite restaurant among locals and visitors.
We enjoyed a bonfire on our first evening. The following nights, we watched performances by comedian-singer Mica Rose, Keith Longbotham, and a local country-Western band. During the rally, the chapter also received its 10-year-anniversary certificate, presented by Rod Sartwell, national vice president, South Central Area.
Other activities included a ladies’ luncheon (the men gathered at a local restaurant during this time), ladies’ scavenger hunts, and crafting. Charlie also surprised us with helicopter rides for anyone who wanted to go.
Once again, the Rally in the Pasture was a great time to meet new people, renew friendships with others, and have lots of fun! Will we do it again next year? Charlie said, “Absolutely!”
