The Ozarks Prairie Sooners chapter has been rolling for 25 years. It all started in January 1993 when three FMCA families and a representative from the South Central Area met in Springfield, Missouri, to consider forming a new chapter.
The following March, FMCA members living in southeast Kansas, northeast Oklahoma, northwest Arkansas, and southwest Missouri were invited to an organizational meeting at Mount Vernon, Missouri. At that meeting, 25 families joined the new chapter and officers were elected.
The chapter’s rolling rallies take place in each of the four connecting states. Outings are scheduled for the third weekend of the month from April through October. Designated hosts plan the weekend’s activities.
Members celebrated the chapter’s 25th anniversary the weekend of April 20, 2018, at Ozark Mountain Springs RV Park in Mountain View, Missouri. Activities included a potluck, a pizza meal, and cake and ice cream. Joe Wright, FMCA national vice president, South Central Area, presented the chapter’s anniversary certificate and check.
Chapter members volunteer at the Six State Rally and FMCA’s international conventions. The chapter also donates to charities within its geographical area. For more information about Ozarks Prairie Sooners, visit www.opsrv.com.
