In 1983, a group of bus conversion enthusiasts started the B.C. Bus Nuts chapter, and what followed was 35 years of rallies throughout our coverage area of British Columbia, Alberta, Washington, and Oregon. Today, bus conversions are owned by only about one-third of our members, but one thing we all have in common is our love of the RV lifestyle.
B.C. Bus Nuts members observed the chapter’s 35th anniversary in 2018 with celebration rallies throughout the year. In May, members Fraser and Dorothy Field hosted a rally at their Deroche, British Columbia, home. Attendees included several charter members of the chapter: Dale Olsen, the first president; Walt and Ruth Enns; and Bob Cotherman. In September, members gathered for a rally at the Christina Lake Golf Club in Christina Lake, British Columbia.
In June, at the Northwest Area Rally in North Bend, Oregon, Kathie Balogh, who was nearing the end of her term as FMCA national vice president, Northwest Area, presented the chapter’s 35th anniversary certificate to Gary Werschler, our alternate national director.
We are very proud of our chapter’s 35th anniversary milestone, and we welcome anyone who would like to join our fun-loving group. The next rally is set for May 2019 at Riverside RV Park and Campground in Enderby, British Columbia. For information, contact rally host Gary Werschler at gwerschler@gmail.com.
