Chapter Spotlight: Rocky Mountain Country Coachers
This September, Rocky Mountain Country Coachers members will meet in Creede, Colorado.

This chapter emphasizes fun, well-planned rallies.

If you have a motorhome (any brand is fine) and you live or travel in western North America, you already have something in common with RVers in the Rocky Mountain Country Coachers chapter. You may find you have even more than that: a whole new group of friends.

Creede, Colorado, is the destination for their next rally, specifically Mountain Views at Rivers Edge RV Park. Plans include seeing a show at the Creede Repertory Theatre, which USA Today called “one of the 10 greatest places to see the lights way off Broadway.” The potential for Jeep riding and fishing exists, as well as other pastimes. Dates for the get-together are September 4 through 8, 2019.

If you’re looking for more adventures than you normally may have by yourself, again, the RMCC people would like to meet you. Former chapter president and current new-member chair Betty Woods said the tours, sight-seeing, camping reservations, and more are arranged at least a couple of years in advance, because of tighter availability. As of this past summer, she was already describing the RMCC’s spring 2020 rally, in Palm Springs, California, which will include the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and a visit to Jackalope Ranch.

Thorough planning pays off with fantastic outcomes. “We like for people to enjoy themselves, and meet new friends with the same interests,” Betty said. In other words, plan to have a great time. “Our motto is that we want our members to have a fun-filled time and have adventures they might not normally have considered.”

The RMCC puts on three to four rallies each year around the Rocky Mountain and West Coast areas. Each rally has about 30 coaches, with the chapter having approximately 50 families.

Speaking of families, Betty said the chapter has a tradition of including children at its summer rally, when youngsters are out of school. If your grandchildren or kids travel with you, they will feel at home, too.

“We have a real diversity of great people,” Betty said. “Anyone brand new — they are welcome and another member helps them feel comfortable.”

If the Creede rally sounds good to you, contact Betty to see whether space is available.

Upcoming rallies for 2020 include the “Movie Memories”-themed rally in Palm Springs, California, March 25-29, 2020; a “Grand Canyon” theme rally in Williams, Arizona, June 6-13, 2020; and a “Yellowstone Adventure Rally” in Yellowstone, Wyoming, September 8-12, 2020.
