This chapter meets at Thousand Trails locations in the Lone Star State.

The Thousand Trails of Texas chapter began in 1986 and is now in its 33rd year as an active FMCA chapter. That year, at the Thousand Trails Medina Lake RV Campground in Lakehills, Texas, park management suggested that campers who regularly stayed there form a chapter.
Fred Kennedy, whose FMCA service has included national vice president, South Central Area (2007-2011), and his wife, Lou, began canvassing campers at the Thousand Trails RV parks in Texas, inviting them to form a new FMCA chapter. They found enough interested RVers, and so the Thousand Trails of Texas chapter began.
Our chapter schedule goes from January to November. During that time, we hold five chapter rallies at Texas Thousand Trails parks. We also get together at FMCA international conventions, and each year we attend the Six State Rally (the South Central Area Rally). We assist in putting on that event as area officers, national officers, cadre members, and volunteers.
Our chapter rallies typically last three days, from Friday to Sunday, but members usually arrive early and stay longer to enjoy friendship and pre- and post-rally activities.
At each rally we gather to play cards and dominos. We share friendly games of mini golf and/or horseshoes. We go to theater shows, museums, and other local attractions. Fellowship occurs while eating out at local restaurants, digging into potluck feasts, or enjoying special meals prepared by the rally wagon masters.
Lasting friendships are made as we become like a family. Information is shared as we discuss mechanical issues and modifications. Sometimes members even choose to travel together, sharing trip ideas and camaraderie.
We want to welcome you to our group. Membership is open to owners of all types of motorhomes and towable RVs. The only chapter requirement is that you be a member of FMCA. Since Thousand Trails parks are open to the public, it is not necessary to be a member of Thousand Trails. Initial chapter membership is $35 per couple or $27 per single, which includes one year of membership, name badges, and flags. Subsequent annual membership is $10.
