Family Matters: Meet The Family

March 1, 2021
Family Matters: Meet The Family
FMCA members Drew and Ann Leach.

Ann and Drew Leach, F500983

Occupations: We used to be a Realtor and a transcriber. Now we’re social media influencers. Follow us: RunawayWithUsRV.

Home: Box Elder, South Dakota.

RV: 2016 Newmar Ventana LE motorhome that we named Tan Tan, and we tow a red Jeep that we named Red Rover.

Pets: One dog named Jimi Hendrix. We are big fans of music and love guitar especially. One of our previous Shih Tzus was named Eric Clapton. Who knows, maybe one day we will have Eddie Van Halen or Slash.

RVing Full-Time Since: Fall 2019.

Decision To Become RVers: To live a better life, and to see more of the continent. Plus, to meet up with old friends and family in various cities.

Lessons Learned:

  1. Don’t always trust your navigation system.
  2. Even a bad day on the road is better than the old days.

Favorite Camping Destination: Ours is Pensacola Beach, Florida, because of the great views and soft sugar white sand, but our dog, Jimi Hendrix, prefers Ocean Beach in San Diego, because he can run free on the dog beach.

Most Unusual Place Visited: Big Timber, Montana. Despite its name, Big Timber is a very small town. But it had a fantastic campground, and we got to park next to a raging river.

Still On The Bucket List: The Pacific Northwest.

One Thing You Never Leave Home Without: Our GoPro camera. You never know what you are going to get to see.

Most Amusing Encounter With Another RVer: Meeting Randy in Benson, Arizona. We had a couple of problems that plagued us for months, and he fixed them in two seconds.

Funniest Camping Memory: Traveling to a warmer climate area only to wake up and find the water frozen at the hookup source.
