REV added an island in the new American Dream 29RK, making the kitchen the center of RV life.

REV Unveils Luxury Motorhome Floor Plan At FMCA Convention

While social gatherings in a sticks-and-bricks house often center around the kitchen, that can be a little challenging in an RV. REV Recreation Group decided to change that. At FMCA’s 102nd International Convention & RV Expo in Perry, Georgia, this past March, the company unveiled its 2021 American Dream 39RK, which is one of the first Type A motorhomes with a stationary kitchen island. The island includes an induction cooktop, a wine chiller, and additional counter and storage space. It also provides a central gathering space, said Doug Miller, product manager for REV Recreation Group.

“Whenever you’re entertaining, guests naturally gravitate to the kitchen and congregate around the island,” he noted. “The 39RK floor plan delivers that ‘at-home’ experience with the kitchen island and a number of other residential amenities.”

The island is possible as a result of the space saved by the Adap-Table Dinette, which frees up space around the island by pushing up against the wall and serving as a breakfast bar. It also can swing out into a table for four.

The 40-foot-2-inch 39RK, which falls under REV’s ultra-luxury American Coach brand, also has quartz countertops in the kitchen, bedroom, and bath; handmade cabinetry; a stackable washer and dryer; a tiled shower with skylight and teak bench; a king-sized bed; and a 43-inch bedroom LED TV. It’s built on American Coach’s Liberty Bridge chassis, is powered by a 450-horsepower Cummins diesel engine, and has a steerable tag axle for sharp turning.

Recreation.gov Adds Grand Teton Campgrounds To Reservation Site

FMCA members attending the association’s 103rd International Convention & RV Expo in Gillette, Wyoming, in July may want to enhance their travels with a stop at Grand Teton National Park. The Signal Mountain and Lizard Creek campgrounds inside the park recently were added to the National Park Service’s reservation site, Recreation.gov.

Both campgrounds allow for RVs up to 30 feet long and have rest rooms with cold water. Signal Mountain offers 30-amp and 50-amp electric hookups, a public shower, and laundry facilities, and it sits adjacent to a general store. Lizard Creek offers nonelectric sites. Both campgrounds sit along the eastern shore of Jackson Lake.

Colter Bay RV Park, the most popular campground in Grand Teton National Park, includes 112 full-hookup sites and can accommodate 45-foot RVs. It is being migrated into the Recreation.gov site in November 2021. Until then, reservations for that campsite must be made at www.gtlc.com.

Grand Teton National Park adjoins the south entrance to Yellowstone National Park.

NeXus RV Expands Production

NeXus RV bought a new building and hired 50 more people to ramp up production.

NeXus RV bought a new building and hired 50 more people to ramp up production.

NeXus RV, the privately owned manufacturer known for its Type C and Type B+ motorhomes, is looking to satisfy its backlog of orders by nearly doubling its manufacturing space. In February, the company acquired a 75,000-square-foot facility in Elkhart, Indiana, roughly one mile from its current 100,000-square-foot headquarters and production facility. It also hired an additional 50 people, who will focus on development of the company’s Type C motorhomes in the new facility.

The expansion is driven by increased demand across the industry as a whole, the growth of its dealer base, and a backlog of nearly 1,000 units, said company president Dave Middleton, who founded the company in 2010 with Claude Donati.
