RV Marketplace Listing Updates
River Ridge Retreat, C14095, inadvertently was left out of the “RV Marketplace” campgrounds section in the January 2022 issue. The facility is located just outside Guntersville, Alabama, and set on more than 570 acres, with miles of water access to Lake Guntersville. The campground includes 23 RV sites with full hookups. Of them, 18 are 72-foot pull-through sites and five are 72-foot-plus motorhome pull-in sites. An additional 31 waterfront RV sites — all 72-foot pull-throughs —will be available starting in March 2022. For more information, visit www.riverridgeguntersville.com or call (256) 505-1454.
Also in the campground section, the following amenities should have been listed for Southern Hills RV Park & Campground, C13743, located in Hermosa, South Dakota: RVs up to 45 feet; pet friendly; and concrete pads. For more information, visit www.southernhillsrvparkandcampground.com or call (605) 939-7609.
The Facebook page that was listed for J&S Custom Apparel, C13733, of Reseda, California, is not affiliated with the company. For information about this FMCA commercial member, contact them at (818) 414-2423 or sixxgunscott@gmail.com.
Inverter Generators Clarification
The “Inverter Generators” column by Steve Froese in the January 2022 issue was very complete. Keep up the great articles. One small error on page 22 where it notes, “It also results in pure sine wave output instead of the square wave created by a traditional generator.” AC generators generate a sine wave. I think there was a twist of the wrist and he meant to say “traditional inverters.” Inexpensive inverters have square waves or commonly called “modified sine waves.” More expensive inverters do produce “pure sine waves.”

Note from Steve Froese: I likely did mean to type “inverter,” but I also had in mind that “traditional generators,” while producing a sine wave, have very high total harmonic distortion (THD) — sometimes upward of 10 percent, while inverter generators can have THD as low as 1 percent. As I’m sure you know, some modern electronics don’t do well above moderate levels of THD. So, while traditional generators do produce a pure sine wave in theory, they also can produce relatively “dirty” power. Thanks for bringing this error to our attention.
Kudos To Steve
The “You’ve Got The Power” article that appeared in the December 2021 “Tech Talk” column was very well written. I understand “root cause” and changing/questioning one variable at a time. Steve Froese did an excellent job of pointing this out to RVers who need service on an RV now.

We really enjoy reading the magazine for the excellent articles and the RV-related ads. We also appreciate your website. It is easy to use and very comprehensive. FMCA has been a valuable part of our camping experience for the past 12 years.
