Outdoor Recreation Receives A Nationwide Boost
In July 2023, the Department of the Interior announced the distribution of $295,582,830 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) to all 50 states, U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia. The funds from this year’s distribution will be available until fiscal year 2025, according to a news release.
The allocation for each state and territory is determined through a formula set in the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act and is largely population-based. States and territories further allocate these funds to local projects, usually through a competitive process.
Since its inception in 1965, LWCF has funded $5.2 billion to support more than 45,000 projects in every county in the United States. The LWCF, which is administered by the National Park Service, supports increased public access to and protection for federal public lands and waters, including national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and recreation areas. It also provides matching grants to tribal, state, and local governments to support the acquisition and development of land for public parks and other outdoor recreation sites.

Fleetwood To Expand Product Line To Mark 75th Anniversary
Long known for its lineup of Type A motorhomes, the Fleetwood family of brands — which includes Fleetwood RV, Holiday Rambler, and American Coach — will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2025 with the introduction of brand-new Type B and C models from Fleetwood RV and Holiday Rambler.
Company officials note that its expansion into Type B and C motorhomes will provide RVers increased options at every stage of the motorized RV ownership life cycle, from outdoor enthusiasts eager to join the RV lifestyle to experienced RVers. All models will feature the contemporary construction, design, and technology that Fleetwood brands are known for, plus access to the company’s service network.
“We can think of no better way to celebrate 75 years of being a brand that families trust than by providing families — and all RVers — more opportunities to become members of the Fleetwood family,” said Alan Farash, vice president and general manager of parent com-pany REV Recreation Group Inc. Farash noted that company reps have been gathering valuable input and feedback from dealer partners in developing these new products. The plan is to introduce the initial lineup of Type B and C motorhomes for the 2025 model year.
ASA Electronics Launches Prewired Smart Control System
ASA Electronics has introduced the iN·Command prep system (NCSP60), which it touts as the world’s first prepped smart control system for RVs. Offered as an option, the system enables owners to easily enhance and upgrade their vehicles while minimizing manufacturers’ investment, according to company officials.
“It’s a win-win,” said Jim Hess, vice president of ASA Electronics’ RV Division. “We created a system that allows manufacturers little to no risk, and when customers choose to upgrade, they can do so without going to a dealer.”
The iN·Command prep system features plug-and-play functionality, which allows RV owners to integrate it into their vehicles and skip the lengthy wait often encountered at service facilities. Even RVers with limited technical expertise can enjoy the advanced RV technology without the cost and time spent at service appointments, a press release states.
“Everything can be controlled from their phone,” Hess said. “That means that if you’re outside as dusk approaches, you don’t have to get up from relaxation or leave your grill. Instead, with just a few clicks on the app — boom! — the lights are on.”

Buddy Gregg RVs Joins Lazydays Family
Lazydays has announced its acquisition of Buddy Gregg RVs & Motor Homes in Knoxville, Tennessee.
“This acquisition strengthens our presence in the Knoxville market and more than offsets the loss of our Maryville store, which will be closed due to the expansion of the Alcoa Highway by the Tennessee DOT,” a press release noted. The store has been renamed Lazydays RV of Knoxville at Turkey Creek.
The late Buddy Gregg, a long-time supporter of FMCA, opened his first RV dealership in Little Rock, Arkansas, with his wife, Carole, in 1984. In 1986, they moved the operation to Knoxville, beginning what would become one of the most successful high-line motorhome dealerships in the United States.
Lazydays, established in 1976, operates more than 20 locations across the country.
