Family Matters: A Fun Time At The Tricky Triangle
The Pocono Raceway was full of laughter and smiles during the Penn Coachmen chapter’s July rally. Members were able to ride in stock cars, attend track tours and seminars, and enjoy delicious meals.

The third annual Penn Coachmen open rally was held at the famous Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, this past July. Although the official rally was only three days long, many attendees were on-site from June 30 through July 8. A total of 65 RVs, representing 11 FMCA chapters and several non-members, enjoyed the hospitality of the raceway and the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau.

Full-hookup parking was provided in the infield of the raceway’s 2.5-mile “Tricky Triangle,” just two weeks prior to the annual race. What a wonderful time! Track tours were offered by the raceway, and many attendees took the opportunity to ride along in stock cars at over 160 miles per hour.

Our potluck meal was held in the NASCAR garages, and the visitors bureau treated us to an old-fashioned holiday cookout with all the fixin’s. The final rally evening meal featured a pig roast and chicken barbecue.

Penn Coachmen raised $1,200 for the Mattioli Foundation for children, as well as piles of needed supplies and goodies for Operation: Touch of Home for deployed military personnel.

Each day included seminars and demonstrations open to everyone. Penn Coachmen also recognized Hughes Autoformers for their gracious donations of Watchdog power protection devices as grand prizes. A great time was had by all!
