Flip-Up Storage Space
Many RV dinette chairs have at least a 4-inch-deep space under the cushions. If that’s the case, the seats can be modified to make a storage compartment.
First, remove the cushion, which usually is held in place by screws. Secure two hinges to the front edge of the seat top, then set the cushion in place and, from below, mark the location of the hinges. Flip up the cushion and attach the cushion to the hinges. Next, cut a piece of inexpensive thin paneling to fit the chair bottom. Attach it to the underside of the chair with two wood screws on each side.
Now, I can place my laptop and more under my flip-up chair cushions.
