Medicine Door Pull
Medicine door pullOur new motorhome has beautiful beveled-glass mirrors on the medicine cabinet doors in the bathroom. On the cabinet frame near the bottom of the mirror is an indentation in the wood that allows you to reach under the door and open it. But opening and shutting the door usually left unsightly fingerprint smudges on the mirror. This was solved by screwing a window sash lip to the bottom corner of the door. No more messy fingerprints on the mirror!

Homey Table
Homey tableOur motorhomes are our “home away from home,” and we all like to give them that cozy, comfortable feel. Many opt for the steering wheel table as a spot to place an extra lamp to illuminate our surroundings. We have found another way of adding table space in our coach. We purchased a wooden decorative table (available at discount department stores) and placed it between the driver and passenger seats. It covers the console/cup holders between the seats. The wooden table legs easily can be cut and trimmed to the height needed so the table will be level. We bought a cloth to match the colors of the motorhome and then topped it with a crocheted overlay. While in camp, we keep flowers, our business cards, and our cell phone on the table, and we also store items under the table. A lamp would sit nicely here as well. Those who spend Christmas in their motorhome also might find that it’s the perfect spot for a small Christmas tree.
When we’re ready to travel, the table can be taken apart easily and stored until we reach the next campsite. We receive compliments about the table, so we thought others might like to try this idea also.

Cleaning Headlight Lenses
Idea for cleaning headlight lensesSunlight had discolored the plastic headlight lenses on our 1997 motorhome. I discovered that using an electric buffer with a mild rubbing compound will brighten the lenses and make them clear again. To avoid damaging the motorhome’s paint, tape off the surrounding area before you begin cleaning.
Purchasing an electric buffer and mild rubbing compound is more economical than buying a headlight assembly and having it installed.

Knee Savers
Red tape to mark jack locationsTo save wear and tear, and pain, on our knees, we attached a piece of red tape to the side of our motorhome at the four jack locations. The tape tells us exactly where to put the jack support boards and keeps us from having to kneel down so far to locate the jacks.
