FMCA’s Youth Program once again was a huge success with all of the children and their parents who attended the “Navigate To The North Star State” convention. The program welcomed 122 registered children, which included 52 TATS (ages 13-18); 30 PRE-TEENS (ages 10-12); 32 TWEENS (ages 6-9); and eight TOTS (ages 2-5).
There were plenty of off-site activities to be enjoyed by all. Outings included visits to Nickelodeon Universe and Underwater Adventures Aquarium at the Mall of America; the Minnesota Zoo; Valleyfair Amusement Park & Water Park; the Minnesota Children’s Museum; the Science Museum of Minnesota; and Como Town and Zoo. Participants also had time to enjoy the usual games and fun activities provided at the individual youth centers, including crafts, ice cream and pizza parties, and visits by Flakey The Magic Clown.
During FMCA’s Annual Membership Meeting and Installation of New Officers, held Thursday, July 17, national president Connie Pool thanked the past officers of the TATS “” president Philip Marlowe, vice president David Hartley, second vice president Kim Odom, and third vice president Ben Milne. After that, the new TATS officers for 2008-2009 were introduced. They are: David Hartley, president; Philip Marlowe, first vice president; Stephanie Waller, second vice president; and Annah Waller, third vice president.
During his address to the FMCA membership, outgoing TATS president Philip Marlowe presented convention highlights from a youth’s perspective and thanked FMCA for providing so many fun activities for the youngsters in attendance.
