“Showcase” correction
In the “Coach Manufacturers And Custom Converters Showcase” (June 2008, page 98), an error was made in the listing for Renegade Custom Coaches & Trailers. Our text indicated that Renegade coaches are constructed of “hard-body fiberglass reinforced plastic.” The text should have read “hard-body fiberglass reinforced panels.”

Web site correction
In the “Boats Afloat” article (May issue, page 54), the Web site included in the contact information for Zodiac and Avon products was spelled incorrectly. The correct Web address for these brands in the United States is www.zodiacmarineusa.com.

Enough room
Dear Editor:
After reading “Make Room For More” in the May 2008 issue (“Full-Timer’s Primer,” page 110), the “rule” most of us live by came to mind: “The motorhome parties six, feeds four, sleeps two.” That seems to work for about 99 percent of us out here.

Campground event planners
Dear Editor:
We just returned from Branson, Missouri, where we cohosted a motorhome rally for the FMC Club East chapter. We stayed at the Branson KOA, owned by Ralph and Kim Newell (397 Animal Safari Road; 800-467-7611; www.bransonkoa.com). We had such a good experience, we wanted all to know.
About a year ago we started talking to the event planner about our rally. We wanted to do this as simply as possible and were willing to pay for a first-class rally. It included a three-day stay with meals and camping. They have their own convention center where they make breakfast available for the whole campground. We could then spread out over the great city of Branson for the day and return to the campground for a catered dinner early enough for all of our people to go to a show at night. On Saturday evening they arranged for us to go to a great show, and shuttled us there and back in their vans, which meant we got to use the tour bus entrance.
We want the FMCA membership to know about these capable and experienced people. If you are planning a rally, let us recommend the Branson KOA to you. They made it easy!

When service comes to you
Dear Editor:
Our excitement when arriving in Florida was quickly quenched when the small slideout on our Dolphin motorhome broke while we were setting up camp at Salt Springs Recreation Area in Ocala National Forest. We needed to have service done in the campground because we could not close the slideout for travel. I went to a local RV repair shop and was referred to Pro-Tech RV Repair & Wash from Ocala, because they do work anywhere.
Someone was sent out quickly to survey the problem, and a few days later it was repaired, and at a reasonable fee, I might add. Three weeks later we moved to the Wauchula area, and the slideout broke again. I called Tim Hample, owner of Pro-Tech, and he reassured me that their work was guaranteed and they would see to it that it was fixed permanently.
He called around and tried to find someone to repair it for him, because of the travel distance and time for his crew. We were assured that if he found someone in the area to fix it, we would not be billed for the work. After a few days of trying, Tim called and said he could not find anyone that he thought could do the quality work that he wanted for us. He then sent his team almost 200 miles to us in Wauchula. They found a bigger problem than first thought, and fixed it again. Tim did not want to take any payment, but we gave the guys some money for dinner.
We moved several times after that on our way home to Pennsylvania without incident.
We are handing out this company’s business cards to all our camping friends. They are Pro-Tech RV Repair & Wash, 3423 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Suite 5, Ocala, FL; phone (888) 493-3678 or (352) 390-8919.

Grand assistance
Dear Editor:
We spent last summer working at Grand Teton National Park. One Friday we went to Jackson, Wyoming, to do our weekly shopping. We started back to camp about 4:00 p.m. and got only about 5 miles out of town when the water pump in our Jeep stopped working. We were able to get back to Jackson and rent a room in a motel. Since this was late on a Friday, we could not find a place to get it repaired.
Saturday morning, we went to a parts house and asked if they knew of any repair shop. There was one next door, but it was closed. While I was talking to the parts guy, my wife came in and said that someone had just come into the repair shop.
It was the owner, and he said they were closed on Saturday, but made an exception. He told me to drive the Jeep into his shop. About an hour or so later he was finished. Not only did he open up his shop for us, he did the necessary repair at a very modest cost. He did a good job and we have had no problems since.
We strongly recommend this shop for any necessary repairs in Jackson. It’s called Jackson 5959, at 1175 S. U.S. 89; phone (307) 733-5959.

Leak problem resolved
Dear Editor:
We recently returned from our first extended trip to the South. On the third day, I noticed a water leak under the motorhome. I found the fresh water pump to be the source of the problem. I drove to Bill Plemmons RV World, near Winston-Salem, North Carolina (888-746-2351). They could not have been more helpful in assisting me to resolve the problem. They provided the extra wire and connectors that made one of life’s little bumps easier to endure.

New Topeka RV body center
Dear Editor:
I wanted to let fellow motorhome owners know about a great new rehab center here in Topeka, Kansas. Clay Myers and Brian Yingling have just opened Yingling Auto Body, a state-of-the-art RV repair center with 4,300 square feet, which is big enough to accommodate three large motorhomes. The staff can perform any paint or body repair you need, and also can provide generator repair services.
This is the only dedicated RV paint/bodywork facility within 60 miles of Topeka, so it is centrally located for all of eastern Kansas and western Missouri. It is located at 2525 N. Topeka Blvd.; phone (785) 232-0484. Speaking from personal experience, Clay and Brian will take great care of you and your RV.
