Recall Corner: January 2010

January 1, 2010

On certain motorhomes, the brake line comes in close proximity to the battery and battery tray. In this location, the brake line can rub against the battery and/or battery tray, causing the outer coating on the line to become damaged and possibly expose the bare steel. There also is the possibility of battery acid getting on the line, which could soften the brake line coating and lead to corrosion and possible pinholes in the line. Either of these circumstances can lead to a brake line leak, which could cause brake failure and result in a crash.

A dealer will inspect the brake line and replace it if necessary. The technician also will make sure there is adequate clearance between the battery and battery tray and the brake line. The repair is expected to take approximately two hours. However, due to service scheduling times, the service center may need the vehicle for a longer time period.

For more information about this recall, contact Roadtrek at (888) 762-3873. Owner notification began in November 2009.
