Forest River Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 12V458000, which involves 2010 through 2013 model-year Forester, Lexington, and Sunseeker motorhomes built from August 19, 2009, through September 12, 2012. The potential number of vehicles involved is 1,585.
On the affected motorhomes, the liquid propane gas line that supplies fuel to the appliances in the slideout can become damaged. A leaking fuel line could result in an explosion and fire, potentially leading to injury or death.
A Forest River dealer will remove the existing mounting bracket for the fuel line, rotate it 90 degrees, and reinstall it with a U-bolt. Any damaged parts that are found will be replaced.

Jayco Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 12V451000, which involves, among others, 2008, 2009, and 2011 model-year Greyhawk and 2008 through 2011 model-year Melbourne motorhomes built from May 21, 2007, through September 10, 2010, and equipped with Iota-brand transfer switches.
On the affected motorhomes, there may be an improper electrical connection at the buss bar on the transfer switches. This improper connection could result in overheating and melting of the transfer switch, increasing the risk of a fire.
A Jayco dealer will replace the faulty transfer switch with a new transfer switch. The repair is expected to take approximately 60 minutes. However, because of service scheduling times, the service department may need the vehicle for a longer period of time.

Prevost has announced NHTSA recall 12V511000, which includes 2012 and 2013 model-year X3-45 and XLII-45 Entertainer coach buses built from November 15, 2011, through August 14, 2012. The potential number of coaches involved is 91.
On the affected buses, the power cables in the rear junction box and condenser compartment sections of the coach may be rubbing against sharp edges. This rubbing could lead to a short circuit and fire, resulting in property damage, injury, or death.
A Prevost technician will inspect the power cables and, if necessary, reroute and replace any damaged cables. For more information about this recall, contact Prevost at (418) 424-9153. Owner notification was expected to begin in November 2012.
Spartan Chassis Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 12V429000, which involves 2008 and 2009 model-year K2 and 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013 model-year MM motorhome chassis equipped with a Hendrickson independent front suspension. The potential number of chassis involved is 491.
On the affected chassis, the front brake chambers may contact the upper control arm of the independent front suspension. Continued contact may result in damage that is sufficient to inhibit the full release of the brakes. If the brakes do not fully release, as they drag they can create enough heat to cause the brakes to engage even further. As the brakes self-engage, the driver could lose control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
