Recall Corner: January 2015

February 1, 2015

Entegra Coach has announced NHTSA recall 14V615000, which involves certain model-year 2015 Anthem and Aspire motorhomes manufactured from July 18, 2014, to September 17, 2014. The potential number of affected vehicles is 38.

In the affected vehicles, manufactured on a Spartan chassis, the Cummins ISB or ISL engines may have been equipped with Fleetguard UFF-XT fuel filters, part number FF63009. The filter shell might separate from the fuel filter nut plate, causing the engine to stall without warning and increasing the risk of a crash.

Entegra will notify owners, and Spartan Chassis dealers will work with Cummins to replace the fuel filter. The repair is expected to take one hour; however, because of service scheduling times, the service department may need the vehicle for a longer period of time.

For more information about this recall, owners may contact Entegra customer service at (800) 945-4787.

Newmar Corporation has announced NHTSA recall 14V602000, which involves certain model-year 2007-2012 Bay Star, Ventana VT/VL, Dutch Aire, Dutch Star, All Star, Mountain Aire, and Essex motorhomes manufactured from January 16, 2007, to May 24, 2012. The potential number of vehicles affected is 561.

In the affected vehicles, the circuit breaker for the refrigerator heated water line may be incorrect for the amperage draw, increasing the risk of a fire. Also, the 12-volt thermostat and 12-volt heated water line could be wired incorrectly.

The recall began November 6, 2014. Newmar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect motorhomes and verify that the circuit breaker rating is correct for the amperage draw; dealers also will correct any wiring issues for the thermostat and heated water line. For more information, owners can contact Newmar customer service at (800) 731-8300.

Tiffin Motorhomes has announced NHTSA recall 14V609000, which involves certain model-year 2013-2015 Allegro Bus 45-foot LP, 40-foot, and 37-foot motorhomes. The potential number of vehicles affected is 491.

In the affected motorhomes, the federal certification label incorrectly states the front gross axle weight rating (GAWR). If the motorhome is loaded to the incorrect specifications listed on the label, tire failure may result, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall was expected to begin in November 2014. Tiffin will notify owners and send a corrected sticker for the customer to place over the incorrect sticker. For more information, contact Tiffin customer service at (256) 356-8661.

Couple that with shorter days, lack of sunlight (which can lead to low energy levels), layers of clothing to keep our skin from absorbing the nutrients of Vitamin D from the sun (crucial for maintaining a strong immune system), and lack of proper hydration due to not feeling thirsty (caused by to cooler temps and less perspiration); ALL of this can lead to our immune systems

  • "We were stranded along a narrow road near Bryce Canyon, Utah. The location was not a good place for cellular service, but I was able to contact Roadside Rescue and arrange for a tow after driving our towed vehicle to the town of Bryce. I had to speak with several people at Roadside Rescue, but each person I spoke with was respectful and courteous. The tow was set up and our rig taken to a place that promptly took care of the repair and we were back on the road in 24 hours." Michael & Lynn Noonan (F448134)
