Reducing Noise
After our first motorhome trip in 1997, I wanted to eliminate the noise that kitchen utensils, dishes, and pots and pans made in the drawers, while still being able to access them easily. I had some bubble wrap. I carefully cut it and taped it to line the bottom and sides of all the kitchen drawers. That took care of the problem; it’s so much quieter. Seventeen years later, the wrap is still in good shape and doing its job. An alternative would be to cut cardboard pieces a little smaller than the drawer bottom and sides, cover them with bubble wrap, and slide them into place.

Quick Fill
Filling the water tank on my Safari Damara Type B+ motorhome was slow and time-consuming. To diagnose the problem, first I opened the bedroom slideout, and on the left side at the top of the bed, I removed the top panel between the bed and the wall. I found that the fill hose dipped to the floor, slowing the water flow. I installed a board and clamp to hold the hose in place and make it level with the fill door and tank. Now I can fill the tank in a matter of minutes.

A Bright Idea
Many people pursue their interests while traveling. Ours is watching the huge freighters at the Soo Locks in Michigan. We needed a table light and thought it would be nice to have one shaped like a ship. We could not find a ready-made one, though. During our last visit to the locks, we were able to purchase a perfect wooden ship model. We made a trip to Home Depot for the fixtures, and a friend made the base, which was then spray painted black. The lampshade cost more than the rest of the lamp, but it was worth it. Any hobby can be the basis for a lamp design.
