Sun Shade
For some time, I had considered buying a sun shade for the windshield of my Fleetwood Excursion, but I balked at the price. Instead, I did this: At a discount store, I spent $4 for four silver-colored sun shades, which came with suction cups. Each shade is 51 inches by 24 inches. They overlap to completely cover my windshield, and they are easy to install. The reduction of interior temperature is considerable.

Bedroom Makeover
My wife did not like the solid maple headboard or the bedroom as a whole in our 2004 Monaco Diplomat. The headboard seemed to shrink the room. So, we removed the headboard, as well as the light fixtures on both sides of the bed. We then hung wallpaper. The finishing touch was the installation of three 12-inch-by-12-inch mirrors where the light fixtures and headboard used to be. At first glance, they look like windows. That opens the room up and brightens it.

Check-In Time Saver
Checking in and registering at a campground is more time-consuming if you haven’t memorized the license plate information on your motorhome and towed vehicle. To avoid having to run back outside to look at the plates, we store the plate information in our phones. In the phone’s alphabetized directory, the information is kept in “Y” or “Z,” because very few names begin with those letters. Of course, the key is to bring the phone when checking in.
