Texas RV Dealer Collects Teddy Bears For Children
An RV dealer with three locations in Texas, PPL Motor Homes, collected more than 450 teddy bears during its annual Cuddles for Kids toy drive. Police officers keep bears in their patrol cars and give them to children who have been involved in accidents or affected by domestic issues.
Donors from across the United States contributed to the 2019 drive, either by sponsoring bears or dropping them off at PPL locations in Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, or New Braunfels. Since 2011, PPL has collected and distributed thousands of bears to law enforcement agencies.

Research Underscores Benefits Of Diesel-Powered Pickups
Research from business information provider IHS Markit highlights the fuel savings and performance gains that owners of diesel-powered pickup trucks can expect. The findings were reported in a press release from the Diesel Technology Forum, a nonprofit that raises awareness of the importance of diesel engines, fuel, and technology.
According to the research, consumers who choose the diesel-engine option in a full-size half-ton pickup can achieve on average 33 percent more miles per gallon (24 mpg for diesel versus 18.1 for gasoline). That translates to a savings of about 200 gallons of fuel a year and helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition, on average, full-size diesel pickups have a greater driving range before refueling (550 miles per tank for diesel versus 420 miles for gasoline). Diesel engines also deliver higher torque.
The press release noted that midsize pickup trucks with diesel engines also deliver fuel savings, greater driving range, and improved torque, compared to gasoline-powered models.
In 2019, American consumers could choose from nearly 50 diesel vehicles, including crossovers and sedans.
