All Systems Go For 2022 Quartzsite Show
Each winter, snowbirds flock to a quiet town in the Southwestern desert to tour exhibits, socialize, and become part of the phenomenon that results: The Quartzsite Sports, Vacation and RV Show. The event runs January 22 to 30, 2022, in Quartzsite, Arizona.
Located just off Interstate 10, 125 miles west of Phoenix and 20 miles from the California border, Quartzsite transforms to a bustling burg. Approximately 150,000 RVers from across the United States and Canada are expected this year.
An estimated 400 companies – including FMCA – will set up in and around the Big Tent, a 70,000-square-foot structure, to showcase RVs, RV components and accessories, miscellaneous product offerings, and more. Another major draw is a sizable rock, gem, and mineral show that takes place at the same time.
The Quartzsite show is “something every RVer should have on their bucket list and experience at least once in their lifetime,” said promoter Kimmy King, whose father, Kenny, created the show in 1984.

Dometic Promotes Sustainability With New Materials
To offer lower-impact choices to its environmentally conscious customers, Dometic will incorporate REDUX, a lightweight polyester made from 100 percent recycled plastic bottles, in a wide range of new products. The material has received Global Recycled Standard certification. The products, slated for release this year, include tents, a new RV awning, and camping furniture.
“At Dometic, environmental consideration is an integral aspect of product design. We want Dometic to be a safe and reliable choice for conscious customers,” noted Juan Vargues, president and CEO.
Jayco Adds Intuitive Tech To Towables
Jayco has launched JayVoice, a voice-command system, on select Jayco luxury fifth-wheel models. Said to be the first such system in the industry, JayVoice provides RVers with a more intuitive way to interact with technology. It is offered as standard equipment on 2022 North Point, Pinnacle, and Seismic Alpha fifth-wheels.
JayVoice works with Jayco’s existing JayCommand system to control the air-conditioners, furnaces, lights, and more. To use the system, RVers say, “Jayco” and then one of the predetermined commands, such as “Main A/C,” to operate the system of choice. A voice receiver mounted on the ceiling enables its operation throughout the RV.
JayCommand allows owners to monitor and control key RV operations from a smartphone or a tablet. When paired with the new JayVoice system, these same functions can be accessed using voice commands.
