Recall Corner: May 2010

May 1, 2010

Winnebago Industries Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 10V088000, which affects 2010 model-year Itasca Sunova D33C and Sunstar E30W, and Winnebago Sightseer D33C and Vista E30W motorhomes built from July 16, 2009, through January 14, 2010. The potential number of motorhomes involved is 79.

On certain motorhomes, wiring from an incomplete 120-volt-AC circuit may become energized. (This wiring was placed for an option that was not ordered or installed.) The connector at the end of this circuit is not covered, making it possible for someone to come in contact with the energized conductor. Touching this conductor could lead to shock or electrocution, resulting in personal injury or death.

A Winnebago Industries dealer will install the missing conductors and receptacle. The repair is expected to take one hour. However, because of service scheduling times, the service center may need the vehicle for a longer time period.

For more information about this recall, contact Winnebago Industries Inc. at (641) 585-6939. Owner notification was expected to begin in March 2010.{loadpositionEndBlurbRecalls}
