 Las Vegas Luxury Resort

LVM Resort, formerly known as the Las Vegas Motorcoach Resort, is a luxurious 41-acre, gated resort for Type A motorhome owners located southwest of Las Vegas, Nevada, near Blue Diamond Road and Interstate 15.

If you own a Type A motorhome and are planning to spend a few days and nights in Las Vegas, you’ll want to avail yourself of its amenities. And you don’t have to buy a site to enjoy them. Many owners willingly rent out their sites while they’re traveling or spending time at their stationary home (a rental agent is always on duty at the resort, along with other full-time, on-site staff). If you rent a site and enjoy your stay there, you might consider buying one of the few sites that are being offered.

LVM Resort features more than 400 landscaped sites, each of which reflects its owner’s tastes. Almost anything an owner can conceive that will fit within a site’s confines can be built (as long as it isn’t a roofed enclosure). Sites feature state-of-the-art water, sewer, 50-amp electric, cable TV, and telephone hookups; complimentary wireless Internet is also available.

Resort amenities include a 10,000-square-foot clubhouse, an owners club, a nine-hole putting course, two tennis courts, a spa center, a fitness center, bathhouses, swimming pools, whirlpools, and laundry facilities. In addition, a secured storage area is available for automobiles, boats, and other large items. Don’t overlook the wonderful 1950s diner that’s open for breakfast and lunch only. The diner is complete right down to a full complement of Elvis songs on the Wurlitzer and real malts. Be forewarned, however: come hungry or be prepared to share, because the portions are huge!

Spartan Chassis Showcases Two Concept Chassis

Spartan Chassis Inc., a subsidiary of Spartan Motors Inc., introduced a pair of concept chassis during the 49th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky, November 29 through December 1, 2011.

Both concepts, a 32-foot Type A chassis and a 25-foot Type C chassis, capture key Spartan design features such as flexibility and adaptability.

The 32-foot chassis is a lightweight, maneuverable, midsize diesel pusher that reportedly will offer improved fuel efficiency and a smaller carbon footprint, along with the traditional benefits of a rear-engine diesel chassis: low engine noise, as well as increased power options and carrying capacity. It was developed in response to increasing interest in smaller, more fuel-efficient RVs.

The chassis features a Navistar MaxxForce 7 turbo-diesel engine, an Allison 1000 MH electronic transmission, a Cummins Onan 6,000-watt generator, hydraulic disc brakes, and a polymer diesel fuel tank. The chassis frame is built of high-strength, low-alloy steel, and it has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 22,000 pounds.

The 25-foot concept chassis features a low-floor platform design that offers ease of entry and egress, with the option of including an Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramp. The chassis incorporates front and rear self-leveling air suspension systems with four-corner kneeling. The electronic kneeling feature, available at the touch of a single switch, reduces entry step height to a level never before seen on a motorhome, according to company literature. This concept chassis provides manufacturers with the opportunity to expand their business to include RVs for customers with mobility and health concerns.

The foundation of the 25-foot concept chassis is a Chevrolet G4500 gas or diesel cutaway, with high-strength, low-alloy steel construction. Additional features include a powder-coated frame for extended life and corrosion resistance, a premium air dryer system with spin-on eco-friendly filtration, and a 3-year/50,000-mile limited warranty.

For more information about these and other Spartan Chassis products, visit www.spartanchassis.com or call (517) 543-6400.

Newmar Introduces 2012 Bay Star Sport

Newmar Corporation debuted the 2012 Bay Star Sport, its “best value” in a Type A gas motorhome since its introduction of the Bay Star in 2006, at the 49th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky, November 29 to December 1, 2011.

The Bay Star Sport will be offered in four floor plans ranging from 27 feet to 33 feet in length. The Bay Star Sport is built on the Ford F-53 chassis and powered by a Ford Triton V-10 engine. It features the same construction, air-conditioning system, and slideout mechanism the company uses on all of its other products, yet still retains an entry-level price.

“The success Newmar has had with the 2012 Ventana LE since its introduction at last year’s show in Louisville prompted our company to take a similar approach in developing a lower-cost version of our Bay Star gas motorhome,” said John Sammut, Newmar’s vice president of sales.

The Bay Star Sport starts at a base manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $93,450 for the 2702 floor plan with two slideouts. Standard features on all Bay Star Sport floor plans include gel-coated fiberglass sidewalls with vinyl graphics, a Dometic 6-cubic-foot refrigerator, a 32-inch LCD TV in the front living area, a Dometic patio awning, and a one-piece tinted windshield. Optional equipment includes a partial exterior paint treatment, a hydraulic leveling system, slideout awnings, and a 600-watt inverter. The Bay Star Sport is available in two interior décor packages, with a choice of two wood finishes.

For more information about Newmar products, call (800) 731-8300 or visit www.newmarcorp.com.
