Spice Rack Insert

My Fleetwood Excursion motorhome has a spice rack over the microwave oven. During travel, the spice jars jumped around and sometimes fell on the floor. My solution: I made an insert from a strip of hardwood that I purchased at a home-improvement store. The strip measured 48 inches by ¼ inch by 2 1/2 inches and cost about $6. I cut the strip to the needed length. Spice containers are about 1 ¾ inch in diameter, so I put marks at 3-inch intervals along the strip length. I then used a drill and 2-inch hole saw to cut the container holes. I added three 1 ½-inch supports to the underside of the insert. Now when we arrive at a destination, the spices are neatly lined up.

TV Cable Connector

Many people have trouble screwing a TV cable onto a campground hookup. We found an easier way. Buy two F-type quick-connect adapters, which are inexpensive and can be found at electronics stores. The adapters screw onto each end of the TV cable, and they remain on permanently. One end connects to your RV and the other end to the campground post. It’s then easy to hook up; just push the connector onto the post. Disconnecting also is easy; just pull the connector off.
