News & Notes: July 2019
Removal of litter from public lands is a goal of the Pick Up America campaign.

Thor And KOA Join Forces On Trash Removal

Thor Industries Inc. and Kampgrounds of America (KOA) have partnered on a program called Pick Up America. The campaign’s first initiative encourages people to remove at least 5 tons of trash from public lands this summer.

Participants are invited to visit www.pickupamerica.com and pledge how many bags of trash they will fill and dispose of. Then they choose how to follow through with their pledge. Joining with others is encouraged. For example, groups might help clean up biking/walking trails; local, state, or national parks; picnic areas; rest stops; school campuses; or parking lots.

Participants are encouraged to post their efforts on social media using the hashtag #PickUpAmerica and tagging @ThorIndustries and @KampgroundsOfAmerica.

As of the end of May 2019, pledges exceeded the goal of picking up 5 tons of trash. The partnership of Thor and KOA will extend beyond 2019, with additional challenges to be announced.

The rear living area is equipped with a 57-inch-by-75-inch Murphy bed; an entertainment unit with a 32-inch TV and sound bar; and a residential-style sectional sofa that includes two power recliner seats with built-in footrests.

Up front, the dinette converts into an optional bed system that makes use of the front swivel chairs. Features of the galley include a Corian countertop with a flip-down extension; aluminum-framed cabinet drawers; and a Dometic RMD 10 series refrigerator.

The motorhome is equipped with the Dometic IoT Solution, a “smart RV” system that controls the RV’s components. Throughout the coach, six touchscreens monitor and control lighting, climate, awnings, water heater and tanks, water pump, batteries, inverter, and propane. The system can be controlled remotely from a smartphone or tablet.
The Unity Rear Lounge Concept is expected to be available in fall 2019. For more information, visit https://leisurevans.com.
