“RV News” Clarification

In the November 2011 “RV News & Notes” column, we included a story titled “Newell Coach’s New Suspension System” (page 40). It has been brought to our attention that Newell is not the only motorhome in North America that has an active-suspension system. Motorhomes made by Foretravel Motorcoach also have an active-suspension system.

Three Tows, Two Fixes, All Covered By Coach-Net

Dear Editor:
The luckiest decision we have ever made was to sign up with Coach-Net through FMCA. This past September we had to rely on their fantastic service for the second time. Not only was the tow truck at our motorhome in a timely fashion, but a Coach-Net representative stayed in touch with us throughout the ordeal and even checked with the repair shop to make sure we had arrived safely. What impeccable service.

The first time we used Coach-Net was last year, when we had to be towed to a shop in Rawlings, Wyoming, because of a transmission failure. Unfortunately, the foreman there said they were unable to repair the coach and suggested we get towed again, this time to Rock Springs, Wyoming, more than 100 miles away. There, the problem was solved in less than an hour. All thanks to Coach-Net.

Do these guys at Coach-Net walk on water, or what? We think they do!

Leak Fixed Quickly

Dear Editor:
While traveling through Texas, we spent a night at Amarillo Best RV Park in Amarillo. When making preparations to leave the following morning, I discovered a propane leak at a hose fitting. In the campground brochure was an advertisement for Jack Sisemore Traveland. They were overbooked, and we were told they would try to get to it as soon as they could. We fully expected to spend at least the day there but were on our way three hours later.

We were very impressed with the level of service, reasonable price, and courtesy of the staff. I spoke with the owner, Jack Sisemore, to personally thank him for the wonderful way in which we were treated. We highly recommend Jack Sisemore Traveland to anyone needing repairs in Amarillo (806-358 4891; www.sisemoretraveland.com).

Weak Wi-Fi

Dear Editor:
Like so many people, we travel south in the winter. How wonderful it is to be able to do this while enjoying our great country and meeting so many nice folks.

As you can imagine, we have stayed in many campgrounds. My husband relaxes with his satellite TV, and I usually go online using Wi-Fi. But Wi-Fi typically is so weak that it is either extremely slow or useless. I would like to hear from other FMCA members who have found a solution to this problem.

Remembering Lawrence Welk

Dear Editor:
I enjoyed Marion Amberg’s article about Lawrence Welk (“Wunnerful, Wunnerful!” March 2011, page 58). For 26 years Lawrence Welk had his own nationally televised show, and its success on television and in syndication gave him iconic status. It has been almost 30 years (1982) since the last of his original shows were on TV, but they are still seen in reruns on PBS and around the world.
