Airstream Inc. has announced NHTSA recall 15V-658, which involves certain model-year 2015-2016 Interstate Grand Tour EXT vehicles manufactured from July 11, 2014, to September 1, 2015, and Interstate Lounge EXT vehicles manufactured from November 21, 2014, to September 1, 2015. The potential number of affected vehicles is 564.
The affected vehicles may have electrical wiring connections that were not properly tightened and an interior wiring harness grounding wire that was installed incorrectly. If the electrical connections are loose or the ground wire is located incorrectly, the wiring may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
Airstream will notify owners, and dealers will tighten all the wiring connections and relocate the wiring harness ground wire. The recall was expected to begin in November 2015. For more information, contact Airstream customer service at (937) 596-6111, extension 7401 or 7411.
Newmar Corporation has announced three recalls.
The first is NHTSA recall 15V-642, which involves certain model-year 2016 Bay Star, Bay Star Sport, and Canyon Star motorhomes manufactured from July 8, 2015, to September 14, 2015. The potential number of affected vehicles is 86.
In the affected units, the parking brake actuator may be out of calibration, causing the parking brake system to not properly hold the vehicle even with the parking brake pedal fully depressed. Also, the parking brake may not disengage completely when the parking brake pedal is released. If the parking brake does not fully engage, the vehicle may unexpectedly roll, increasing the risk of a crash. A parking brake that drags may result in a wheel-end fire.
Newmar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the parking brake foot pedal assembly. For more information, contact Newmar customer service at (800) 731-8300.
The second is NHTSA recall 15V-654, which involves certain model-year 2007-2008 Mountain Aire motorhomes manufactured from October 16, 2006, to July 24, 2007; 2007-2008 Essex motorhomes manufactured from November 1, 2006, to May 24, 2007; and 2007-2008 Dutch Star motorhomes manufactured from October 12, 2006, to June 29, 2007. All were built on Spartan Motors chassis. The potential number of affected vehicles is 119.
The affected units have tag axles with wheel bearings that may be adjusted too tightly, resulting in overheating during use. If the wheel bearings overheat, there is an increased risk of a wheel-end fire.
Newmar will notify owners, and Spartan Motors will check the wheel-end bearings for appropriate end play, replacing them as necessary. The recall was expected to begin in December 2015.
For more information about this recall, contact Spartan customer service at (800) 543-4277.
The third is NHTSA recall 15V-713, which involves certain model-year 2016 Bay Star, Bay Star Sport, and Canyon Star motorhomes built on Ford F-53 and F-59 chassis and manufactured from July 8, 2015, to September 23, 2015. The potential number of affected vehicles is 93.
Because of an incorrect shift cable bracket and an improper shift cable adjustment, the affected motorhomes can be shifted out of park and into reverse without applying the brakes. A vehicle that can be shifted into reverse without the brakes being applied may unintentionally move, increasing the risk of a crash.
Newmar will notify owners, and Ford dealers will replace the transmission shift control bracket and adjust the transmission shift cable. The recall was expected to begin in December 2015.
For more information about this recall, contact Newmar customer service at (800) 731-8300.
Spartan Motors USA has announced NHTSA recall 15V-633, which involves certain model-year 2003-2005 MM and K2 motorhome chassis manufactured from January 20, 2003, to May 16, 2005. The potential number of affected vehicles is 1,354.
The affected vehicles have a steering gear mounting bracket that may crack, causing a loss of steering ability, which increases the risk of a crash.
Spartan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering gear mounting brackets. The recall was expected to begin in November 2015. For more information, contact Spartan customer service at (800) 543-4277.
Thor Motor Coach has announced two recalls.
The first is NHTSA recall 15V-698, which involves certain model-year 2009-2011 Four Winds Hurricane and Windsport, 2009-2010 Four Winds Mandalay, 2010 Four Winds Magellan, and 2010-2011 Four Winds Serrano motorhomes manufactured from May 2, 2009, to September 1, 2010. The potential number of affected vehicles is 503.
The affected motorhomes are wired to be powered by a generator and are equipped with an Iota ITS-50R transfer switch that may fail when exposed to elevated electrical loads and used in higher ambient temperatures. If the transfer switch fails, it may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
Thor Motor Coach will notify owners, and dealers will replace the Iota ITS-50R transfer switch with one from another manufacturer. The recall was expected to begin in November 2015.
The second is NHTSA recall 15V-699, which involves certain model-year 2016 Challenger, Hurricane, and Windsport motorhomes manufactured from July 31, 2015, to September 9, 2015. The potential number of affected vehicles is 17.
Thor Motor Coach will notify owners, and dealers will replace the parking brake foot pedal assembly. The recall was expected to begin in November 2015.

Tiffin Motorhomes Inc. has announced two recalls.
The first is NHTSA recall 15V-612, which involves certain model-year 2010-2012 Phaeton motorhomes with floor plans QBH, QKH, and QTH manufactured from July 1, 2010, to August 1, 2011. The potential number of affected units is 140. Although these vehicles may have been previously repaired for this condition under NHTSA recall 11V-416, it is important that the affected vehicles receive this revised remedy.
In the affected vehicles, an exhaust pipe is mounted too close to the underside of the floor. This could result in the insulation melting and an increased risk of a fire.
Tiffin will notify owners, but a notification schedule had not been issued at press time. Dealers will change the exhaust configuration to provide extra clearance between it and the floor.
The second is NHTSA recall 15V-635, which involves certain model-year 2014-2016 Breeze motorhomes manufactured from September 5, 2013, to September 30, 2015. The potential number of affected units is 298.
The affected motorhomes may have loose ball joints that could separate, causing a loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash.
Tiffin will notify owners, and dealers will correct the joint installation, as necessary. The recall was expected to begin in October 2015.
For more information about either recall, contact Tiffin customer service at (256) 356-8661.

The potential number of affected units is 297.
The affected motorhomes, built on Ford chassis, can be shifted out of park and into reverse without applying the brakes, due to an incorrect shift cable bracket and an improper shift cable adjustment. A vehicle that can be shifted into reverse without the brakes being applied may unintentionally move, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford will notify owners, and Ford dealers will replace the transmission shift control bracket and adjust the transmission shift cable.
For more information, contact Ford customer service at (866) 436-7332 or Winnebago customer service at (641) 585-3535.
