The Sierra Hi Rollers chapter was organized in 1990 to promote travel, information sharing, and fun for motorhome enthusiasts. The chapter’s 25th anniversary celebration on September 23, 2015, featured a gala dinner at Thunder Canyon, a golf and country club in Washoe Valley, Nevada.
Based in northwestern Nevada, the chapter has members from the Reno area, including Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville, and Dayton. Sierra Hi Rollers is one of the few FMCA chapters in the Western Area of FMCA that is not in California. However, a number of the chapter’s members are from the nearby Golden State, and the chapter holds many rallies there.
The chapter is known for being friendly and welcoming to new members. Typically four rallies are held each year, along with one-day events and several dinners. A rally usually lasts four nights, and the schedule includes tours of museums, factories, wineries, and historical sites, as well as meals at local restaurants. Group meals at a rally RV park include a happy hour.
