FMCA Full-Timer Publishes Book
FMCA member Jenise Harper, F413689, has published her first novel based loosely on her experiences as a full-time RVer.
Soul of the Forest relates the mysterious adventures encountered by characters Maggie and Ben, full-time RVers, near Eureka, California. The setting of the novel follows Ms. Harper’s path as she and her husband, Jim, adopted the full-time RV lifestyle after selling their home in Colorado four years ago. According to the writer, one of the couple’s early journeys took them to the magnificent redwood forests between Eureka and Crescent City, California. The incredible groves of old-growth trees provided inspiration for the mystery that develops in the novel.
Although this is Mrs. Harper’s first novel, the retired English and drama teacher has written several one-hour plays that have been performed at RV resorts in Oregon and California as part of a Comedy Cabaret series. She anticipates writing additional novels that follow the full-time RVers as they travel the country.
Soul of the Forest is available in electronic version only from www.amazon.com/dp/B00EUSGE5I.

Go RVing Connects With College Football Fans
This fall, Go RVing partnered with Sports Illustrated to sponsor the 2013 Sports Illustrated On Campus Tailgate Tour, and Winnebago Industries provided a 2014 Winnebago Adventurer to support the tailgating fun and festivities.
The Tailgate Tour kicked off August 31 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, for the Penn State vs. Syracuse game. The tour included stops at five other game sites: Indiana State at Purdue in West Lafayette, Indiana, on September 7; Colorado at Oregon State in Corvallis on September 28; Texas Christian at Oklahoma in Norman on October 5; Florida at Louisiana State in Baton Rouge on October 12; and Auburn at Texas A&M in College Station on October 19.
Featuring the Winnebago Adventurer Type A motorhome and a Keystone RV travel trailer as the centerpieces, the tour showcased RVs as ideal tailgate vehicles and provided fans the opportunity to tour the units. Each stop also offered tailgate cooking competitions, fan games and giveaways, and autograph and photo opportunities with Sports Illustrated personalities and college football alumni.
Go RVing also rolled out new tailgating-themed ads that have aired in conjunction with college football broadcasts on ESPN and CBS Sports throughout the college football season.
The 30- and 60-second ads titled “Victory” feature families gathered at a girls’ soccer game where they are grilling, relaxing in and around the RVs, and enjoying each other’s company, with a voiceover by Tom Selleck. The ads feature a Fleetwood Storm Type A motorhome and a CruiserRV Fun Finder travel trailer.
