Step Stool/Tool Box

The “RV Products” staff considered inserting a motivational quote here to help readers reach new heights. Instead, we’ll point out a more practical way to reach new heights: the Worx Storage Step Stool. You’ll be able to reach 13 inches higher with the 7.15-pound stool, which is made of nylon resin and has a weight-bearing capacity of 324 pounds.

The stool doubles as a portable toolbox that can hold up to 28 pounds of equipment. Unlocking the stool’s metal clasp reveals a 5.5-inch-deep storage cavity. And beneath that is a 2.75-inch-deep pull-out drawer. An integrated handle that lies flush in the lid makes it easy to carry the stool. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $49.99.

Weather Radio

Not every cloud has a silver lining; some of them signal the arrival of severe storms. You can stay abreast of weather alerts, as well as civil emergencies, with the ER310 E+Ready Emergency Crank Weather Radio from Midland. Its sources of power include solar; hand cranking; six AA batteries (not included); or its rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which is said to provide up to 32 hours of normal use.

Features include an LED flashlight with high and low brightness settings; an SOS beacon; a USB connection for charging electronic devices; and an ultrasonic dog whistle. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $69.99.

Waste Valve

Four words you never want to hear in an RV: “Ewww, what’s that smell?” Odors emanating from the waste-water plumbing system may be caused by failure of a traditional water-seal trap (i.e., the P-trap). HepvO, from Drain Master, is designed to replace such traps and prevent the escape of stinky sewer air.

HepvO is a self-sealing waste valve that does not rely on trapped water to create a seal. According to the product description, HepvO operates silently; works well in hot and cold conditions; prevents the accumulation of limescale; and performs even when fats and solid foods are rinsed down the drain (not that you should do that). The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $26.70.

Digital Tire Gauge

When you use a tire pressure gauge, you may hear “pssst.” That’s the sound of escaping air, caused by a momentary gap between the gauge and the valve stem. Tire pressure may be affected, depending on the duration of the gap. The Elite Digital Tire Gauge, from Slime, utilizes the company’s Pressure Airlock Technology to check air pressure with zero air loss.

The gauge has a range from 5 psi to 150 psi. Features include a bright, easily readable LCD screen; a rubberized grip; an LED light for nighttime use; an automatic shutoff; and replaceable L1154F batteries. The suggested retail price is $15.99.

LED Cornhole Game

The cornhole craze continues. No matter whether you’re a diehard fan of the game (also called beanbag toss) or a casual player, it’s fun to see and play the game in a different light. Or even darkness.

Night & Day Bean Bag Toss, from Tenalach, can be played on sunny days or moonless nights. The latter is possible because soft-glow LEDs are built into the beanbags. Also, the board has a light-up target. A set includes a weather-resistant, collapsible aluminum board; eight beanbags; a canvas case; instructions; and batteries. The suggested retail price is $239.99.

Water Container/Filter

Being prepared for dry camping means ensuring your water needs are met. The LifeSaver Jerrycan is a portable and reusable water purifier with a capacity of 4.89 gallons. It utilizes a replaceable ultrafiltration cartridge that tests have shown will remove 99.9999 percent of bacteria, 99.99 percent of viruses, and 99.9 percent of microbial cysts.

Jerrycans are available in two filter sizes: The Jerrycan 10000UF can process 2,642 gallons before a replacement filter is needed; the suggested retail price is $189.99. The Jerrycan 20000UF can filter 5,283 gallons; the suggested price is $229.99. The Jerrycan measures approximately 14 inches by 7 inches by 20 inches. An optional shower attachment is available.

Map-Engraved Bottle

You’ll be reminded of your favorite place in the USA every time you take a swig from a Home Town Maps 21-ounce Insulated Hydration Bottle, from Well Told Design. Each stainless-steel bottle comes engraved with a detailed map of a U.S. city or town of your choosing. Custom text also can be added.

The bottle’s triple-wall vacuum-insulated construction is designed to keep drinks hot for 12 hours or cold for 24 hours. The surface is powder-coated for durability and grip. The top part of the two-piece, screw-on cap has a hook for clamping onto a backpack or whatnot. The bottom piece acts as a strainer/ice-stopper so you can drink without ice leaking out. The price of the bottle is $34.50; when personalized text is added, the price is $39.50. Other sizes and styles of insulated bottles are available.

Portable Clothes Washer

Dirty laundry can pile up faster than snow in a blizzard, so you might consider a portable clothes washer, such as Lavario. It’s nonelectric, and for a typical load, it uses 10 gallons of water (five to wash and five to rinse).

Here’s the procedure: Add water and detergent to Lavario’s bucket; place clothes into Lavario’s 5-gallon basket, which has slotted openings for water to pass through; attach the lid; put the basket into the bucket; grab the basket handle and commence an up-and-down motion (which requires minimal arm strength, according to the product description). A patented “power flow technology” drives water through the clothing fabric. Lavario weighs 10 pounds and measures 19 inches by 31 inches when assembled. The suggested retail price is $129.95.

Nonstick Cooker

Eating is fun. Scrubbing food from pots and pans is not. CanCooker Jr. is an outdoor cooking system that relies on silicone gaskets to trap steam. The steam not only cooks the food but also helps to keep it moist and tender and, therefore, less likely to stick. Also making for an easier cleanup is the cooker’s nonstick coating.

CanCooker Jr. is made of food-grade anodized aluminum. The cooker can be used with various heat sources, such as campfires and barbecue grills, to prepare a meal within an hour. It has a 2-gallon capacity and is designed to feed eight. (Smaller and larger versions are available.) Other features include riveted handles, a vented lid, and safety clamps. The price is $59.99.
